Last week, MotoAmerica traveled to Brainerd, Minnesota to compete in the fourth round of its championship. At the end of the first day of driving, Loris Baz, who scored his first podium of the season at Road America, was already in the mix. The Frenchman confirmed during the meeting, by winning his second podium of the season, a result which gives him confidence for the future.
After a difficult start to the season, marked in particular by an injury at the first meeting of the season, Loris Baz has continued to gain momentum. Having reached the podium at Road America during a round full of events, the Frenchman confirmed it in Brainerd, establishing himself as a serious candidate for victory.
If he has not yet managed to achieve his first success this year, the Habs explains that he has regained all his confidence, and says he is eager to tackle the rest of the season as his Ducati now gives him good sensations on the track.
“Hey everyone, so the weekend is over, it was a very good round for us overall, emphasizes Baz on his social networks the day after Race 2. After a year and a half of struggles, and a complicated start to the season with injuries and the rest, I'm starting to regain confidence on the handlebars of my Ducati. I'm enjoying this bike again. »
Then drawing a more than positive assessment of his weekend, Baz does not regret having missed the podium during the second event of the weekend, after having lost time to avoid a crash with Sean Dylan Kelly, who left at the mistake.
“Second in qualifying, I missed pole by not much, He recalls. I then achieved a good third place in Race 1 during which I was close to victory, as well as a fourth place in Race 2. Again, I was not far from a podium, even if I I finished far away after pulling straight to avoid a driver.
There is certainly still a little work to do, especially on the front of the bike, to gain that little something that I still lack to make the difference and above all to overtake more easily. However, I am super happy, and very happy with everyone's work. I can't wait to compete in the next round and feel competitive again." concludes Loris Baz.
The next round of the 2024 MotoAmerica championship will take place from June 28 to 30, at Ridge Motorsport Park, near Washington.
