Through his Instagram account, Valentino Rossi makes us live his dream of participating in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans event on four wheels.
After Friday devoted mainly to the weighing on the Place de la République in the Sarthe prefecture of the #4 BMW M46 entered in the LM GT3 category by the Belgian WRT team, the nine-time world champion MotoGP saw its Saturday focused on two briefings, including the one devoted to rookies.
Valentino Rossi, rookie and Le Mans, are concepts that take us back many years, but it is with his usual humor that the 45-year-old Italian describes his rather quiet day…
“Today is a fairly free day, but I have to do two or three briefings. So today there is a briefing for the rookies, but for tomorrow's test. Then there is the briefing for everyone, where the rookies must also be present for tomorrow's test. So we'll do two briefings for tomorrow's test, and then we'll see. Anyway, come on, we ate on the beach, by the sea. There wasn't even any noise, we were able to say everything to each other (laughs). »
Meanwhile, the nine brands present in the premier category ran their Hypercar on a course of more than two kilometers in the city center of Le Mans.
On Sunday, the serious things begin as the program includes two free practice sessions, from 10:00 a.m. to 13:00 p.m., then from 15:30 p.m. to 18:30 p.m. Novice drivers will have to complete the ten mandatory laps, including five timed laps, as required by the regulations.
Valentino Rossi will share the steering wheel of the BMW M4 GT3 wearing his iconic number 46 with his usual Belgian teammate Max Martin, but also Ahmad Al Harty, originally from Oman. The 24-hour race will start on Saturday June 15 at 16 p.m.
