While he was in second position and quickly closing in on leader Broc Parkes, Randy fell without gravity in the Raccordement corner, from where he was able to leave with the engine running to reach the SRC Kawasaki stand.

At the end of the second hour, the YART Yamaha, then driven by the Japanese Kohta Nozane, was ahead of the SRC Kawasaki with Fabien Foret by 8.7, the Yamaha GTM47.3 with Mike di Meglio by 94 and the SERT Suzuki with Vincent by 54.7 Philip. In terms of tires, Bridgestone occupied the lead with the YART ahead of Pirelli with SRC Kawasaki, while Dunlop completed the Top 4 with the GMT94 and the SERT. Michelin occupied first position in Superstock with Viltaïs.

Randy de Puniet reduced his gap on Broc Parkes by 10 seconds to 2.4, but he fell in the Rconnectement corner without gravity. He was bringing his ZX-10R back to his stand. The Yamaha GMT94 and the SERT Suzuki took advantage of his immobilization to overtake him.
