The FIM Endurance World Championship returns to the Le Mans circuit for the 47th edition of the 24H Motorcycles. While things started this Wednesday with a procession through the city, the 48 entered in the 24H started the weekend on the track this morning, during Free Practice. Yart-Yamaha set the fastest time of the session, before taking provisional pole.

EWC – 24H Motorcycles
The trend reverses for the first time this weekend and the No. 12 of Yoshimura Sert Motul dethrones the No. 1 (Yart-Yamaha). Gregg Black beat Niccolò Canepa by 43 thousandths thanks to his attempt in 1:36.237, set just before handing over the machine to his teammates.
Markus Reiterberger (No. 37 – BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team) challenged the leading Suzuki for a long time, before finishing the session in third position, more than a tenth of the reference time.
In front of the checkered flag, seven motorcycles move in the same second. Note the test of the Safety Car procedure during the driving time, followed by the fall of Dan Linfoot (n°12).
Superstock
On the Superstock side, the Tecmas MRP BMW Racing Team strikes again. The crew of the No. 9 largely dominates the session and relegates its closest pursuer – which is none other than the No. 55 of National Motos Honda – to more than six tenths, while the No. 18 is more than 'a second in third position in these tests.
