Dominant from start to finish, the official BMW team asserted its dominance on home soil, on the Ardennes circuit. The #37 BMW Motorrad Endurance Team won the 2026 Spa 8 Hours unchallenged. Behind the untouchable Belgian team, YART secured a distant second place.
The BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team didn't just win at Spa; they crushed the competition on their home turf. While the Ardennes weather unleashed its full arsenal, with rain making an appearance mid-race, the No. 37 BMW remained unperturbed. The crew perfectly adapted their pace, never making a single technical or strategic error on a track that was both soaked and drying, allowing them to build a decisive lead of over a minute on their closest rivals.
Despite its victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the No. 1 Yamaha (YART) had to settle for playing second fiddle. The reigning world champion team was counting on the return of the downpour halfway through the race to turn things around. Unfortunately for Yamaha, the strategy backfired. Better at fuel management, YART extended its stints but fell victim to poor timing. By making an extra pit stop, their rivals experienced the rain at a less critical moment, while Yamaha had to make two stops in quick succession. The No. 1 bike was never able to close the gap and had to concede victory to a stronger competitor.
One hour to go and the @BMWMotorradEWC #37 still leads the #8hSpa ahead of YART – @yamaharacingcom #1 and Kawasaki Webike Trickstar #11.

The podium was completed by an exemplary Kawasaki team. Riding the #11, the crew delivered a clean and flawless performance, securing a well-deserved third place thanks to a remarkably consistent race.
But the biggest thrill of the race belongs to Suzuki. The Yoshimura SERT Motul team delivered the performance of the weekend. Catapulted beyond 20th place after a heavy crash right at the start, the number 12 Suzuki began a spectacular comeback. Driven by the trio of Black, Masson, and Linfoot, the SERT machine finished just off the podium in 4th place, one lap behind the Kawasaki. This remarkable recovery, which transformed what seemed like a disaster into a triumph, deserves high praise.
In stark contrast to BMW's success, Honda's weekend ended on a sour note. The FCC TSR Honda France team suffered a mechanical nightmare. Betrayed by a faulty and jammed gearbox, the reigning champion saw Alan Techer and then John McPhee exhausted before being forced to retire late in the afternoon.
