After kicking off its season at Le Mans, the FIM Endurance World Championship (EWC) returns to action in Belgium, to contest the 8 Hours of Spa. The event reaches a new milestone in 2025 with a record field of 44 teams, an increase of more than 20% compared to previous editions.. This figure marks the highest participation rate since the event's return to the EWC calendar in 2022 and confirms the renewed interest in motorcycle endurance racing at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit.
Among the entries, 42 teams are registered for the full season, while two new teams – PRD Team CL Racing and Flying Buffs M3 Racing – are making their debut as one-event teams in the FIM Endurance World Trophy category.. The 2025 innovations also include the move of Motoain Racing Team to the Production category, the arrival of JOJ Racing in Formula EWC, and the return of Champion-MRPTecmas and Wójcik Racing Team to Superstock.
On the favourites side, Yamalube YART Yamaha is aiming for a historic hat-trick at Spa after its victories in 2023 (24H) and 2024 (8H), while Kevin Calia and Aprilia will try to repeat their success in Superstock with Revo-M2.
Belgian teams BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team and ELF Marc VDS Racing Team/KM99, respectively 3rd and 4th in the 2024 championship, will fly the national flag, supported by several local riders, including Loris Cresson, Luca De Vleeschauwer, Arnaud Dekimpe and David Drieghe. This 2025 edition therefore promises to be very challenging.
