He wanted a new motorcycle, but ended up recreating a vintage masterpiece. After buying a brand-new 2026 Honda CB1000F for €13,000, a Japanese motorcyclist decided it lacked the charm and soul of classic bikes. His solution? Entrust the machine to Proto, a Japanese workshop specializing in retro transformations. The result: a masterful fusion of modern technology and the spirit of the Bol d'Or.
Barely out of the dealership, the motorcycle was dismantled piece by piece. Not on a whim, but because its owner wanted something else: a brand new motorcycle with the look of an 80s legend.
Proto then set himself a crazy challenge: to transform this CB1000F in an authentic replica of the CB750F Integra from 1982.
No generic parts or 3D prints: the team found an original CB750F Integra fairing, which they restored and perfectly adapted to the new HondaAll this without betraying the legendary lines of the original model. The result? A modern CB1000F with the soul of a 1982 Bol d'Or.

White, blue and red: there's even the return of the iconic Honda HRC.
The front fairing now houses the 2026 LED headlight, integrated into the retro cowl. The leg guards, the muscular lines of the tank, and above all the red, white, and blue HRC livery pay homage to the glorious past of Honda.
Nothing has been left to chance: the style is reminiscent of endurance motorcycles. 24 Hours of Le Mans or Bol d'Or 1983, down to the smallest sticker.
It looks like a motorcycle straight out of the Paul Ricard paddock, but with ABS, fuel injection and modern electronics under the fairing.
Proto didn't just work on the look. The team installed brake calipers. Brembo 484, T-Drive discs, and an exhaust Akrapovic to the oval silencer, subtly concealed to respect the retro silhouette.
The matte magnesium effect rims complete the look: a rare balance between current performance and old school charm.
This revamped CB1000F shares little with the original motorcycle, apart from its engine and chassis.
The motorcycle is currently a unique example, but Proto makes no secret of its ambitions: to gauge the enthusiasm for this transformation and, if successful, to offer a complete conversion kit for owners of CB1000F.
An initiative that would delight a whole generation of bikers nostalgic for the CB Bol d'Or, but who want to enjoy the reliability and performance of modern motorcycles.
With this creation, Proto signs a vibrant tribute to the golden age of Hondaproving that you can buy a 2026 motorcycle and make it breathe like a 1982 one.
And something tells us that this neo- cafe racerGold bowl could well launch a new trend among fans of the retro-racing style.
