This is the first official announcement of the 2 Moto2026 transfer window: Aron Canet is leaving Fantic to join the Elf Marc VDS Racing Team. A multi-year contract and a return to familiar sensations, as he will be leaving the Kalex for a Boscoscuro—a chassis he already rode in 2020 (under the Speed Up name) and in 2021. A sporting choice… and a strategic one, as Marc Van Der Straten's team also competes in WorldSBK…
In the Fast and Curious podcast, the Spaniard buried the hypothesis of an immediate rise to the premier class. I've known this since last year. " he said, without going into details. On the other hand, the Superbike option seriously existed for 2026: discussions with Aruba Ducati (salary offer deemed too low, €150) and track BMW (proposal for only one year), ultimately too short for a pilot at the top of his curve. The agreement announced with Marc VDS would therefore cover, at this stage, the Moto2 program.
The deal settles a major issue on the plateau: Canet will succeed Jake dixon within the Belgian team, while Dixon moves up to WorldSBK with the HRC factory. Special feature : both drivers share the same manager, Bob Moore, who confirmed the agreement with Marc VDS.

Aron Canet chooses winning stability
Sportingly Canet can now lock in his end of season: the objective is clear, to go for the Moto2 crown. He is only 25 points behind his compatriot Manuel Gonzalez (Intact GP). At the same time, it also grows Fantic towards the team title alongside Barry Baltus : The duo has a 16-point lead over IntactGP. The speed is there, and so is the determination.
The package Marc VDS–Boscoscuro ticks several boxes: incisive chassis for an attacking style, cutting-edge structure capable of offering a plural project (bridge to the World SBK if necessary), and a technical environment tailored to maximize the performance window of a title contender. Staying in the MotoGP ecosystem while keeping the door open to SBK: the trajectory is clear.
In a word, Canet choose the winning stability rather than a leap into the unknown: an elite team, a chassis he masters, and a horizon that can take him very high—to Moto2 from 2026, then, when the time comes, to the best handlebars... whether in GP or Superbike.
