Daniel Holgado

The 2025 Moto2 British Grand Prix marks a turning point for the Aspar riders, who learned a lot about the intermediate category during a challenging weekend in France. After a learning curve, Spanish rookie Daniel Holgado is preparing to take on a new challenge at Silverstone, with a change of mindset.

This week, the Silverstone circuit hosts the British round in May for the first time in its history. This change in the calendar brings its share of uncertainties, particularly regarding the weather, and promises a race full of surprises. After competing in similar conditions two weeks ago in La Sarthe, the No. 27 car, however, does not intend to be caught off guard.

Having joined Moto2 this season, Dani Holgado continues to adapt to a category renowned for its demanding and competitive nature. The Spanish rider finished sixteenth in the last French Grand Prix at Le Mans, but he is particularly impressed by the progress he made throughout the weekend.

"I want more at Silverstone, he promises on the sidelines of the event. I'm very motivated for this weekend after a difficult race in France. Even so, we fought for the top 10 in the opening laps after starting from the back, and we learned a lot."

Daniel Holgado now knows more than ever that every detail counts in the class he is still discovering, continues: "I'm aware that in Moto2 you can't let your guard down and you always have to look for those little details that make the difference."

If the British weather in May promises to be unpredictable, Daniel Holgado will certainly be able to draw on his past experience at Silverstone. He has already reached the podium there in Moto3. Currently twelfth in the general classification and leader among the rookies, he will once again aim for the top 10, hoping to get closer to the best.

His teammate David Alonso, also a Moto2 rookie, is just as familiar with the circuit, having won the 2023 Moto2024 race and finished second in 3. After finishing eleventh in France, the reigning Moto3 world champion shares the same dynamic progression and also aims to fight for the top spots.

“At Silverstone I want to focus on how to continue to get the most out of the new tyre, he confides in turn. When it's new, it makes me feel a little more comfortable than when it's worn out. Maybe at Le Mans, we lost a little time on the first day by making a few mistakes. It's important that we make the most of each session and focus 100 percent from the start on Friday."
