Moto3 Argentina Qualifying

Moto3 qualifying is now over in Argentina! It was particularly difficult to determine who would start from pole position. Since yesterday, the majority of riders have been discovering a circuit that was not on the calendar in 2024, which makes the task more difficult. In FP1, David Munoz (KTM Liqui Moly Intact GP) stood out, but the young Spaniard will have to start from the pit lane after colliding with Luca Lunetta (Honda Sic58 Squadra Corse) in Thailand: his efforts were in vain. Then, during Practice, a magnificent performance by David Almansa (Honda Leopard Racing) allowed him to put himself in a very good position for the qualifying to follow. In FP2, Matteo Bertelle (KTM Levelup MTA) took the best time, with an explosive time ; however, the poleman from Buriram must first go through Q1. Can he join the Q2 group from this first round? The answer will follow in a few minutes.

Do you already know the result of this session? It doesn't matter, come and relive it with us! Before we begin, here is a table that summarizes the known facts.

It's time for Q1, contested in the dry, but with raindrops falling on the circuitDavid Munoz is one of them, even if his result won't erase his penalty. Watch out for Matteo Bertelle, the favorite after FP2.

The session had barely begun when Luca Lunetta already has a problem on his bike, like a part is hanging behind the backrest.

Bertelle does not take long to rise to the top. He is ahead of the astonishing Marcos Uriarte (Honda GRYD MLav Racing), and the surprising Adrian Cruces (KTM CIP Green Power), replacing Noah Dettwiller.

Finally, as the clouds threaten, Matteo Bertelle finished first in this Q1 and logically moved on to Q2. He was ahead of Marcos Uriarte, Taiyo Furusato (Honda Team Asia) and Adrian Cruces. Moodley Hive (KTM DENSSI Racing – BOE) is the first injured party. Sad result for Lunetta, 28th on the grid.

Moto1 Q3 result at the 2025 Argentine Grand Prix:

It's time for Q2, at the end of which we will know the poleman! And directly, Matthew Bertelli is in great shape. He is first in the provisional ranking after the first round. Alvaro Carpe (Red Bull KTM Ajo) is also very fast. Be careful with the discreet Riccardo rossi (Honda Rivacold Snipers Team), very disappointing last year.

Matthew Bertelli, in great shape, once again beats the track record and takes first place a few minutes from the end. He has a lead of more than half a second! Behind him, a huge collision between two drivers: Scott Ogden (KTM CIP Green Power) and Riccardo Rossi are down! Rossi has lost the front, and Ogden could not do anything.

Only one more round to go, and Angel Piqueras (KTM MT Helmets MSi) also shows its teeth. But finally, as the checkered flag is lowered, Matteo Bertelle takes pole position, just ahead Angel Piqueras et Ryusei Yamanaka ! David Almansa et Alvaro Carpe complete the top 5. This is Bertelle's second consecutive pole, and the first time an Italian rider in Moto3 has taken two poles since Romano Fenati in 2021! Coming from Q1, it's even stronger.
