The 2015 season should have been a flawless celebration for Ducati. Seventeen wins out of 22, all three world titles, near-total domination. And yet, amidst this red frenzy, one scene ruined everything. At Mugello, Marc Marquez wins, celebrates… and is booed. Ten years after 2015, the wound is still raw. Davide Tardozzi hasn't gotten over it. He says so today, without mincing words.
Ducati recorded his second-best season of all time in 2025. Marquez stacked 11 Grand Prix, 14 sprints, and wrapped up the championship with five Rounds ahead. On the track, it was a demonstration. In the stands, a sense of unease.
Since the 2015 split with Valentino RossiMarquez is consistently poorly received at Mugello and MisanoIn 2025, history repeated itself. One time too many, for Tardozzi.
In a DAZN documentary dedicated to the season of Marquez, the team leader Ducati He reflects on the moment that made him lose his temper:
« It was a very difficult moment for me when I saw the Mugello stands.where more than 50% of the spectators wore red jerseysTo boo. A rider of Marc's caliber, who rides a Ducati at Mugello and won, shouldn't be booed."The message is clear: red must respect red."

Davide Tardozzi, or the outburst that disturbs: " That's enough! »
Tardozzi He stands by his instinctive gesture in front of the stands: I'm really fed up with this memory of 2015. That's enough. You're not a true motorcycle enthusiast if you keep dwelling on this. This situation really bothered me. »
And he unfolds his implacable logic: Firstly, because you have to respect the winner. Secondly, since we're at Mugello and you're wearing a red jersey, you can't boo Marc. So my gesture was instinctive, motivated by those reasons.. »
The heart of the anger lies there. Ten years later, MotoGP remains trapped in the past: And I insist, enough about 2015, after 10 years? That's enough! »
Tardozzi settles the question of guilt definitively: The truth is, it wasn't solely Marc's fault.. The responsibility is shared equally; Marc made mistakes, and Valentino Rossi made mistakes, so that's enough. »
The Mugello scene is symbolic. Marquez victorious on a Ducati, booed by a crowd mostly dressed in red. For TardozziThis is an unbearable inconsistency. For MotoGP, it's a cultural barrier.
Because the question goes beyond Marquez Can we celebrate sporting greatness while refusing to turn the page? Or must we accept that certain injuries become part of a sport's DNA?
Ducati dominated. Marquez crushed it. And yet, the noise of the jeers drowned out the roar of the engines. Tardozzi He put it bluntly: MotoGP It must grow. Respect the winner. Respect the present. And bury 2015.
Red has won. It remains to be seen whether the public will finally accept winning with them.
