The future is unpredictable in MotoGP, and everything moves very quickly. Marc Marquez, the undisputed star of the championship, will set out to conquer a tenth world title, and will therefore have the ability to surpass his eternal rival Valentino RossiBut will he have the motivation to go for an eleventh if he achieves this feat? In 2027, everything will change. Marc Marquez already has a wealth of experience for a rider. MotoGP, and has been deeply affected by injuries since 2020.
In a short video format for official social media channels, Marc Marquez was tasked with imagining the 2027 grid. And, to everyone's surprise, he didn't include himself. Marquez preferred to feature two other riders – see the full grid below – at Ducati, and simply responded "You can never predict" when he was asked about potential holidays in 2027. Strange, to say the least.
So, yes, Davide Tardozzi said that extending Marc Marquez's contract was the priority, and a deal could very well tie the nine-time world champion to the Borgo Panigale firm in 2027 and beyond. However, It should not be forgotten that Nico Rosberg also had a contract for the 2017 and 2018 F1 seasons with Mercedes-AMG Petronas., but that he suddenly retired after winning the 2016 world title.
Fact or fiction? Was Marc Marquez serious or not? Time will tell, but the Spaniard is very playful.
