This weekend, Nicolo Bulega makes his MotoGP debut, replacing Marc Marquez. It's not every day you see a Superbike frontrunner join the grid of the most prestigious category, and yet, in just a few weeks, we'll see the two best riders in the WSBK championship on these prototypes. Bulega, who doesn't have high expectations, spoke shortly before his debut.

According to him, Superbike prepares riders better for MotoGP than Moto2. « I think Superbike is a great way to learn a lot and prepare for MotoGPI think it's a better training ground than Moto2. Because in Superbike, there's a lot more electronics. So, you start to study certain things for MotoGP. The bike's power is also much greater than that of Moto2, which brings you much closer to MotoGP in terms of engine performance. We try to learn how to ride a motorcycle while maintaining almost the same speed and weight under braking, like in MotoGP » we read in the columns of Crash.net.

This is a surprising statement, as Nicolo Bulega struggled in the Moto2 championship and is now successful in WSBK. Furthermore, it's worth noting that all the current top MotoGP riders excelled in Moto2, while recent Superbike transitioners like Ben Spies haven't managed to establish themselves consistently. That said, he insists he doesn't have unrealistic expectations. « Honestly, I don't have a specific goal.I just want to understand the motorcycle sector by sector and what I need to do differently than usual. he added.

Toprak Razgatlioglu, the WSBK star, will make his debut with Yamaha Pramac next year.Bulega, his rival, knows him well, and thinks the Turk can succeed. « I think he's a good boy and a great talent. He will have to adapt a lot next year. He is incredible under braking, but in SBK, the Pirelli front tire is generally exceptional and offers excellent feedback, even at maximum lean angle. In MotoGP, he will have to ride differently. He has incredible talent and is able to adapt very easily. » he concluded.
