Johann Zarco Suzuka

Johann Zarco felt he did not complete the Suzuka 8 Hours test in the best conditions, but remains satisfied with his performance.

Johann zarco flew to Japan on the evening of the British GP. He didn't expect to be on the podium, so he found himself rushing through the press conference and interviews so as not to miss his flight. He was heading to Suzuka, where a test was taking place in preparation for the 8 Hours, which will take place from August 1st to 3rd.

This test was marked by the violent fall of Luca Marini, who was also present and who was seriously injuredStill hospitalized in Japan, he has not yet received the green light from doctors to return to Italy and will obviously be absent this weekend in Aragon, and for an indefinite period.

For its part, Johann zarco had not had the opportunity to publicly discuss this test, which he was able to do during the press conference held this Thursday. The Frenchman, winner of the Suzuka 8 Hours last year, did not give any particular details, and instead emphasized the complexity of running a Grand Prix in Europe and a test in Japan in just a few hours.

He was nevertheless satisfied: “The test in Japan went well. It’s always great to go to this track and I like the CBR. [It allows me] also to compare my performance with Takumi Takahashi who is really fast on this track. It was just a bit tricky because we had to travel straight after the race, we didn’t sleep much and we had to be on the bike, so it’s not the best in terms of physical condition but also mentally. But it was good because once you know the track, you can immediately be fast enough to prepare for the 8 Hours.”

"There wasn't anything special from HRC because we had too little time. I was only actually in Japan for 49 hours, so it wasn't much, but it was really great to see fans. After the first day I did, some fans knew I was there and came on the second day, and that was pretty awesome.", he added to MotoGP.com.
