Bezzecchi

At Aprilia, the story of the 2025 season is being written at two speeds. Marco Bezzecchi, a brilliant transfer from the VR46 team, has quickly established himself as a pillar of the RS-GP25 project. Conversely, Jorge Martin, recruited as the reigning world champion, is struggling to find his rhythm after a series of injuries that have compromised his first half of the season.

When George Martin signed with Aprilia In the off-season, all eyes were on the new duo he would form with BezzecchiBut this dream of two-person domination quickly came up against the harsh reality of the sport: a broken hand in the first few laps in March, then a terrible crash in Qatar in April, with 11 broken ribs and a haemopneumothorax.

Result: Martin missed 10 of the first 11 races of the season, a gap almost impossible to make up in a MotoGP grid that is tighter than ever.

Despite this chaotic journey aggravated by desires for a premature departure, the Spanish driver of 26 years shows encouraging signs: a fourth place in République tchèque, solid performances in Austria and Hungary, and an increasingly visible presence at the forefront.

While Martin heals his wounds, Marco Bezzecchi is quietly building one of the best seasons of his career. The Italian has already six podiums to his name, including a victory in the Misano Sprint from pole, and an epic battle against Marc Marquez for victory at the San Marino Grand Prix.

He currently occupies the fourth place in the championnat, just 8 points from Pecco Bagnaia (Ducati), in the fight for the bronze medal. His consistency and quick adaptation to the RS-GP25 are as impressive as his ability to extract the best from the machine in all conditions.

Bezzecchi and Martin: a cordial understanding at Aprilia... for how much longer?

The weekend of Misano illustrated the current good understanding between the two pilots Aprilia. In free practice, Bezzecchi "has pulled" Martin until Q2, while in return, the Spaniard served as a pacesetter for his teammate during Q2, allowing him to take pole.

More Massimo rivola, CEO ofAprilia Racing, remains lucid: " I'm proud of Jorge and Marco, there's a great atmosphere in the box. But I hope she stays even when they are both at the top. " And to slip, not without irony to our collaborator on site Luca Bartolomeo: " Two such strong drivers shouldn't really be friends »

A latent rivalry? Perhaps. Because as soon as Martin will regain its qualification level - its current Achilles heel - the fight for the No. 1 status at Aprilia looks fierce.

The observation is clear: to compete on equal terms with BezzecchiMartin needs to rediscover his Saturday edge. At the Catalan GP, he only qualified in 18th position — a huge handicap at this level. And until the 2024 world champion resolves this weakness, Bezzecchi will remain the de facto leader of the Aprilia project.

What awaits Aprilia is assessed as follows: Bezzecchi is in contention for the world top 3, and he has proven that the RS-GP25 can win. Martin is still in the rebuilding phase, but the top speed will return — and with it, perhaps some sparks in the box.

A great situation to manage in MotoGP for Aprilia, but also a full-scale test of his ability to manage two roosters in the same henhouse.
