The provisional entry lists of riders for the FIM World Championship MotoGP 2026 are now published.

We can draw some interesting statistics from this, such as the total number of riders, 77, who will participate in the Grand Prix, in the three categories MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3.
They will be divided into 22 for the premier category, 28 for the intermediate category and 27 for the entry category, not including participants in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup or those in the Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup.

In total, there are no less than 17 nationalities represented across all 3 categories who will line up in search of a Grand Prix victory, with a continued clear dominance of Spanish nationals, numbering 32, ahead of the Italians (13) and… the Japanese (7).
Unfortunately, France still only fields the two representatives you know.
Other "traditional" countries are also underrepresented, such as Germany (0) and the United Kingdom (2).
Regarding global reach, only one American and zero Chinese are registered, pending possible impetus from Liberty Media or the effects of the MiniGP World Cup…
