The season MotoGP 2025 is slowly coming to an end without some of its headliners, but the 2026 chapter continues to take shape with the recent release of the dates for official pre-season testing.
As usual, the 2026 season will start in Valencia, on the Tuesday following the Valencian Community Grand Prix at the Ricardo Tormo circuit, that is, on November 18, 2025.
There, we will already be able to see the new riders taking control of their MotoGP, whether it is Toprak Razgatlioglu at Pramac Racing, or probably from Diogo Moreira at LCR Honda.
For this final season of the 1000cc reign, the machines will use the same engines as in 2024 and the work will therefore focus mainly on the chassis, suspensions, aerodynamics and electronics.
The ranking in the dealership table should not change much, but it will be interesting to see which Ducati engines will homologate on the eve of the Thailand Grand Prix: 2024, 2025, or a mix of the two like this year...
Likewise, for Yamaha which seems "obliged" to engage the V4, let's wait and see...
The traditional winter break in December and January will follow, although the end of this will be cut short by the Shakedown, for rookies, test drivers and manufacturers with concessions. This will be held on January 29, 30 and 31 at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia.
After a two-day break, the drivers who took part in the Shakedown will be joined by all the other official drivers for three additional days on the Malaysian track.
The official presentation of the MotoGP World Championship will take place shortly after, in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur, on February 6 and 7. Singapore was considered for a while, but in the end, it will be the same as last year...
A third and final official pre-season test will take place in Thailand, in Buriram, on February 21 and 22, one week before the first of the 22 Grand Prix, this one truly inaugurating on the Chang circuit a 2026 season that we hope will be more open than the previous one...
