Zarco Di Giannantonio Argentina

MotoGP fans have voted, and of all the overtaking moves at the Argentine Grand Prix, Fabio Di Giannantonio's move on Johann Zarco has won the prize.

The Argentine Grand Prix had its share of overtaking moves, notably Marc Márquez's move on his brother Alex, which allowed him to secure victory. There were also the muscular overtaking moves of Franco Morbidelli on Francesco Bagnaia and Fabio DiGiannantonio at the start of the race, but it was the latter who won the best overtaking move according to MotoGP fans, who were invited to vote on the website.

Qualifying sixth on the grid, the #49 was jostled by his teammate in the opening laps of the race, forcing him to go wide and losing time. Stuck behind Brad Binder for three-quarters of the race without managing to overtake him, he had to wait for a mistake from the South African eight laps from the finish to be able to pass him.

So sixth, By Giannantonio caught up with Johann Zarco lap after lap, before overtaking him on the last lap, a few bends from the finish. A correct maneuver but one which "annoyed" the Frenchman, deprived of the top 5 he had held since the third round. For his part, however, the VR46 driver expressed his satisfaction.

"I had to invent surpassing in some way.", he told MotoGP.com. “I thought, 'OK, Turn 11, it's now or never,' because I was expecting him to be preparing his line. I went there and once I was inside, I said in my head, 'I want the video of that overtake.' [laughs] because it's not easy, that corner is quite fast, so it was a good overtake. He gave us fifth place, so that was good.”
