If the Catalan Grand Prix is generally expected as the home event by the eight Spanish drivers participating in the world championship MotoGP, this is not the case for Marco Bezzecchi who will nevertheless be able to count on a big effort from Aprilia in Barcelona.

It must be said that despite the prolonged absence of its haloed leader George Martin, the Rimini rider has carried the Noale firm on his shoulders alone and has done quite well, currently occupying 4th place in the general classification in a trend that even allows him to begin to see Francis Bagnaia in sight, 31 points ahead.

In this fight for the third step of the championship, the statistics passed on a circuit where Marc Marquez has not won since 2019 are on paper certainly in favor of " Pecco", with a double victory at the Catalan Grand Prix and the Solidarity Grand Prix last year. But while the Ducati rider confirmed in the last race that it was his most difficult weekend in the Borgo Panigale colors, the Aprilia RS-GP25's is on the contrary in a positive momentum that has seen him climb on the podium in all but one Grand Prix since Assen (seven podiums this season for the Italian rider).

The Barcelona circuit also brings back good memories for the Noale-based manufacturer, with significant results in recent years, including one that stands out: the historic double in the 2023 Grand Prix.

31 points behind is therefore not much when you can score 37 per weekend and there are 8 left...

In any case, everything is ready for Aprilia Racing, which will be heading to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in force for the fifteenth GP of the season with a full team, including Marco Bezzecchi, Jorge Martin, et Lorenzo Savadori in a wild card role. The test driver recently carried out a test there which should benefit the official machines during this GP: “Barcelona is a circuit where we have always achieved good results in the past. During the recent tests at Montmeló, we tested several interesting solutions that we will put into practice on the circuit. We will continue to develop the bike throughout this race weekend, and I can't wait for Friday to get back on track.”

The weekend will also be marked by a special event. On Friday, September 5th at 21 p.m., the new X will be unveiled, an exclusive limited edition motorcycle to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the debut of the RS-GP in the premier class of the motorcycle world championship.

It is therefore an important weekend for Aprilia, and the morale of the transalpine manufacturer seems to be summed up by the last word of Marco Bezzecchi : “I’m extremely happy to be going to Barcelona; it’s a circuit I really like. Plus, the track is always packed with people and fans, which motivates me even more. But above all, I really want to get back on my bike. As always, we’ll try to give our best. Onward, Aprilia!”
