Although he loves the Barcelona circuit and has performed very well there in the past, Fabio Quartararo is not expecting a miracle this year.

After facing the toughest Grand Prix of his season in Austria, fabio quartararo didn't expect much better in Hungary, on a rather narrow track that didn't suit the Yamaha at all on paper. Against all expectations, he managed to pull off a strong qualifying run and take sixth place on the grid. Unfortunately, he made a mistake at the start and crashed, hitting Enea Bastianini.

Penalized with a long lap for this action, he saw his Sunday race impacted by the time and positions lost during the completion of his long lap, but he still managed to secure a top 10 finish. Still waiting for developments from Yamaha, he could not be satisfied with this result and arrives in the same state of mind at the Grand Prix of Catalonia.

The Frenchman, however, particularly enjoys the Barcelona circuit and performed very well there between 2019 and 2022, with two wins, one podium, two pole positions, and two front row finishes. Since then, however, he has only managed a seventh-place finish in the race and 17th-place finish in qualifying.

Given the dynamics of recent Grands Prix, his comfort level on the Catalan track may not be enough to put him in the lead, and the Frenchman is well aware of this. Torn between the pleasure of riding there and frustration with Yamaha's current situation, he isn't expecting a miracle.

"We're arriving at Montmeló, and it's one of my favorite circuits. But we're not arriving here with as good a dynamic as we hoped. I'm curious to see if our grip will be better this weekend. In any case, as always, we'll do our best to finish in the top 10 on Friday, and then we'll start from there.", did he declare.
