The 2025 MotoGP season, supposed to be a clash of the titans, is currently looking like a Sunday stroll for Marc Marquez (Ducati Lenovo) and his red stripe. After four races – two sprints, two GPs, Buriram and Termas – the stats are hurting: 19th consecutive victory for Ducati, a record worthy of Honda (22, 1997-1998). Marc? A bulldozer: 64th MotoGP victory, 90th in his career (tied with Angel Nieto), 4th triumph at Termas, and a perfect score of 61 points. But Ducati boss Davide Tardozzi is putting the brakes on the euphoria, as a certain Jorge Martin is missing…
The 2025 MotoGP season currently seems to be turning out to be overwhelmingly in favor of Marc Marquez and DucatiAfter the first four races, the figures are clear: Ducati chains 19 consecutive Grand Prix victories, an impressive record that recalls the domination of Honda between 1997 and 1998 (22 wins in a row).
Marc Marquez, meanwhile, continues to write history. With his 64th victory in MotoGP and his fourth in Termas de Río Hondo (after 2024, 2016 and 2019), he equals the legend Angel Nieto with 90 Grand Prix victories, all categories combined. The Spanish driver won the first two Grands Prix of the season for the first time since 2014, year in which he then chained 10 victories in a row. He is also the first pilot to achieve a sweep of the pole position, fastest lap and victory in Sprint and Grand Prix in two consecutive races.
Davide Tardozzi: “ Alex Marquez is a little slow to get going, but when he gets going, he gets going »
Despite this apparent domination, Davide Tardozzi, team manager Ducati Lenovo, urges not to draw hasty conclusions. For him, the season is far from over, particularly due to the notable absence of George Martin, currently recovering. We will know Marc's limits when Jorge returns to form, because it will push hard ", said Tardozzi.
Tardozzi also praised the performance of Johann zarco, who achieved an incredible sprint in Argentina. Kudos to him " he said, stressing that competition remains fierce despite appearances.
Tardozzi also mentioned Alex Marquez, which has shown constant signs of progress. Looking back at Alex's career, we see that he won the title after several years in Moto3, and the same in Moto2. He got them after five yearsHe's a little slow to get going, but when Alex comes along, he comes along. I think Alex will be able to fight for the top three places in the World Championship because he's matured now. He is aware of speed and he has a good bike »
Despite the current dominance of Ducati and Marc Marquez, Tardozzi insists that the season is still long and that nothing is decided. "There is still uncertainty ", he concluded, recalling that the return of George Martin and the progression ofAlex Marquez could well redistribute the cards.
With such early season dominance, Marc Marquez et Ducati seem untouchable. However, as pointed out Tardozzi, MotoGP remains an unpredictable sport, and the competition's big names could well wake up in the upcoming races.
