Fabio Quartararo has taken pole position at the French Grand Prix and will give his all to thrill the French crowd during the race.
He did it! While all the predictions had Marc Márquez as the big favorite for these qualifications, Fabio Quartararo was able to outwit them to take pole position at home, on the Le Mans circuit. This is his third in MotoGP after those of 2020 and 2021.
The Frenchman had already shown his potential yesterday by finishing second on the day, and had shown a taste of qualifying in FP2 this morning, finishing first by just 66 seconds ahead of Márquez. The latter struck a major blow in Q2, smashing the circuit record on his first flying lap.
Fermín Aldeguer and Álex Márquez took turns closing in on his time in the final minutes, but it was fabio quartararo who managed to beat him. The Spaniard attempted a final flying lap but missed and cut his effort short.

Madness obviously took hold of the circuit when Quarterly on the line, and the latter insisted on speaking in French at the microphone of MotoGP.com upon his arrival at the Parc Ferme, thus breaking the codes so that the public could hear him live: "We're going to do it in French, it's better. Honestly, it's incredible to see the public supporting us so much. It's very important for me to get this pole position. We're going to give our all for you, to try to have a great sprint race. Thank you for all this energy!"
"It's a very important pole position. The points are this afternoon and Sunday, but we'll give our all to make the public enjoy it.", he then added in English. If he confided yesterday have the potential for a top 5 "or a little better", remaining faithful to the caution he has shown since his pole position and podium at Jerez 15 days ago, Quarterly now finds himself with all the spotlight on him for both races.
Join us at 15 p.m. to follow the Frenchman in the sprint race.
