Francis Bagnaia

Francesco Bagnaia has had all winter to analyze his 2025 season and says he is ready to take on the challenge of this decisive year.

Francis Bagnaia Will he manage to put his 2025 season completely behind him? That will be his sole objective, and the Italian rider has made no secret of the fact that he worked incredibly hard this winter to understand his mistakes and what went wrong. His self-reflection even went back to 2024, when he had everything he needed to clinch a third MotoGP title before seeing it slip away to Jorge Martín.

"In 2024 I was winning a lot but I lost the championship. And in 2025 we encountered other difficulties, but in both cases, we can always improve." he declared on the occasion of the presentation of the official Ducati team, which was held this Monday in Madonna di Campiglio, Italy.

“I think last year was difficult, not just for me. It was also difficult for the team, because it was hard to understand and have a clear vision of the situation. On several occasions, we had good potential, but we didn't get the expected results. Other times, we had a lot of bad luck, like that puncture in Malaysia. And at times, I really struggled to get back into form and perform well.”

Fifth in the championship last year, with eight podium finishes including two wins, he knows that his potential has not disappeared in the blink of an eye and was able to take advantage of the winter break to take stock.

“I’ve had time to reflect and plan for the season, trying to improve. Fortunately, I have a good mentor within the team, in the garage, so I can be close to him and try to pick up a few tips. I’ve had time to work and train a lot to arrive prepared for the first test.”he added, speaking of his teammate Marc Márquez, who, for his part, is determined to get back to winning ways after his injury.

bagnaia He says he's ready for this season, which looks set to be decisive. With the regulation changes in 2027 and the expiry of all riders' contracts (except for Johann Zarco and Diogo Moreira at LCR), the future is more than uncertain, and performing well in 2026 will be fundamental to securing his future.

“This is my sixth season with the factory team and I think we have some very good memories. We’re going to work to add some new ones this season. I hope we can create more in 2026. But in any case, I think that with the work we’ve done this winter, we’ll try to adapt and learn from these situations.” he concluded.
