Marc Marquez

As he does every post-Grand Prix, Gigi Dall'Igna took to LinkedIn to write. True to his measured yet incisive style, the Ducati Corse engineer delivered his analysis of the Balaton Park weekend: another triumph for Marc Marquez, an ordeal for Pecco Bagnaia, and increasingly threatening opponents.

For the Venetian engineer, the words seem to repeat themselves... but the reality is implacable: " There is nothing to add to what has been said and written since the beginning of the season about the strength of Marc Marquez. All these results are only the confirmation of a champion rediscovered »

And he insists: “ you never get used to victory, and we must celebrate it every time as if it were the first, at the same time for stimulate our enthusiasm and to honor his immense talent »

A way of reminding that, even in the middle of a winning streak, Ducati must not give in to routine. Ducati famous… but remains lucid

Dall'Igna took care to thank those who work away from the cameras: “ we must fully savor these moments and express our immense gratitude to all those who, through their valuable work behind the scenes, contributed to the development of our project with the greatest commitment. Away from the spotlight and media hustle and bustle, a big thank you to the entire Ducati Corse team. »

Gigi Dall’Igna: “ we believe in Pecco, and he knows it »

He also wanted to place the successes in the context of tough competition:

« The diversity of rival brands in the final ranking testifies to the competitiveness of our opponents and adds even more value to our victories. This is why it is worth highlighting the 100% Ducati podium in the Sprint race, where the two VR46 drivers demonstrated the strength of the team and their drivers »

The tone changes radically when it comes to the two-time champion MotoGP of the brand, either Pecco Bagnaia  :

« It was a very difficult weekend for Bagnaia, from practice to qualifying and then to the Grand Prix. There was only one positive point, but it was important. : the feeling he got in the race thanks to the significant setting changes made after qualifying »

According to Dall'Igna, the main thing is no longer the raw result:

« What matters now is not the race result itself, but the feeling he has found on the bike. Results will only come when he fully regains the necessary confidence, which also involves getting used to doing things that should be normal, but that the previous system did not allow him to do »

And the conclusion is clear, almost paternal: " The next step will therefore be important to confirm the chosen path: we are looking forward to this momentWe believe in Pecco, and he knows it. »
