True to form, Marco Bezzecchi remains discreet before the Japanese GP, but actually sees 3rd place in the championship within his grasp.
How far Marco Bezzecchi Will he go this season? While the title seems assured for Marc Márquez, the rest of the final podium remains uncertain, as the Italian driver has been gaining momentum since the end of May and his victory at Silverstone. While he is currently 101 points behind second place held by Álex Márquez and it would take a collapse from the latter for him to dethrone him, on the other hand, he is now only eight points behind third place held by Francesco Bagnaia.
In view of the difficulties encountered by the latter, it seems very likely that Bezzecchi takes it this weekend and keeps it until the end of the season. However, the Aprilia rider maintains his discreet approach and does not officially announce this objective, preferring to focus on the moment.
“To be completely honest, I’m not really watching the championship right now. Of course I’ll take a look at it at the end of the weekend, but my main goal is to continue the same competitive dynamic I’ve been in for many weekends, and I hope to be able to talk about this battle for third place again when we’re closer to the end of the season.”, he said at the press conference organized by MotoGP.com on the eve of the Japanese Grand Prix.

After his formidable duel against Marc Márquez at Misano, number #72 is expected to be one of the strong men of the weekend, alongside the Márquez brothers, but continues his momentum and remains somewhat reserved. “It would obviously be fantastic to do the same weekend as Misano, but we know it’s a different track, the grip is different, the layout is different, and it will be my first time here with the Aprilia, so we’ll see.”, he recalled.
“Anyway, I’m confident. I like the place, I like the track, so I can’t wait to get on the bike and start riding. It’s a track I really like, when I’m riding I like the big braking. I have some great memories here, I got my first Moto3 podium here, it was an incredible day, so let’s hope we can repeat it.”
