The year 2026 will mark Brazil's return to the MotoGP calendar. An event that will allow riders to discover another passionate country, which has already hosted numerous Grand Prix races in the past. A delegation composed of Luca Marini, Franco Morbidelli, Eric Granado, and Diogo Moreira visited the Goiânia circuit – also known as the Ayrton Senna circuit – to meet Brazilian fans. This event, organized by MotoGP, allowed the rider to discover this track, and Luca Marini, Honda official, already has an analysis.

The World Cup has already visited Brazil in the past. It all started in Goiânia in 1987, the birthplace of this Grand Prix. The circuit was only in operation for three years, before going to the side from Interlagos in 1992, the venue for the F1 GP. Then came the Rio de Janeiro Grand Prix, this time held in Jacarepagua, from 1995 to 2004. Makoto Tamada is the last winner on Brazilian soil at the time of writing. Goiânia thus appears as a return to the sources.

Luca Marini spoke about the trail he discovered. « The track is beautiful, but above all, it is incredibly fast.. I wouldn't be surprised if we reach the highest average speed of the season. Either way, fans will be in for a great show here." he asserted for speedweek.

Franco Morbidelli, half-Brazilian, showed just as much enthusiasm for this future Grand Prix. “The people present carry within them all the enthusiasm for this sport. It will be great to come here » he added. Carmelo Ezpeleta, director of DORNA Sports, hopes for great things for this new event. "We will have to wait another year to organize a Grand Prix here, but the atmosphere is already extraordinary. There is still a lot of work to be done before that happens but We already see a great love for MotoGP and incredible cooperation between partners » he concluded.
