Raúl Fernández remains grounded after his victory in Australia and hopes to "become competitive again" like last weekend.

The last weekend, Raul Fernandez won his first Grand Prix in MotoGP. A highly emotional moment, which was the culmination of a rise in power that began mid-season. Having entered the top 10 at the French GP in May, he gradually moved closer to the top 5, which he finally achieved in Brno in July. Since then, he has been penalized each time by his qualifying, before managing to line up everything in Indonesia at the beginning of October.

Thanks to his third place on the grid, he took his first podium in the premier class in the sprint race before finishing sixth on Sunday. Following the same dynamic in Australia, he qualified fourth and was in contention for victory in both races. Although he had to lose to Marco Bezzecchi on Saturday, he finally went on to claim his first-ever victory the following day in the main race.

This is his best Grand Prix since joining MotoGP in 2022. On the eve of taking to the track at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia, Fernandez prefers to play it safe and keep his feet on the ground. He believes that nothing is certain, and that he will have to work in the same way to try to fight at the front again. Injured during the pre-season test, he will have to fine-tune his settings on the Malaysian track.

"It's another weekend of racing in a row. I'm obviously happy with the result we got at Phillip Island, but we mustn't lose focus and keep working as we did before this first victory.", did he declare. “I want to work with my team, work on myself and try to improve everything. I would like to progress day by day and see if we can become competitive again. That is, of course, the main objective. I feel we have a good base set-up now and I feel comfortable on the bike, so I hope we will feel the same in Sepang.”
