Marc Marquez

Marc Marquez continues to push the boundaries of MotoGP history. At Sachsenring, the eight-time world champion claimed his 69th premier-class victory, in what was also his 200th MotoGP start. With this victory, he surpassed Giacomo Agostini to move into sole possession of second place among the most successful riders in MotoGP, behind the unattainable Valentino Rossi (89 wins).

The German victory also marks the ninth of Marquez on this circuit, making him the second most successful driver on the same track after Agostini and 10 success in Imatra.

« Very happy. Reaching 200 Grands Prix with a victory shows that I maintain a high level ", told Marc Marquez after the race.

As a sign of his exceptional form, the Spaniard won the Sachsenring his fourth consecutive double – victory in Sprint and Grand Prix – an unprecedented performance, allowing it to extend to Sept his own record for most doubles in a single season. And the 2025 season is far from over.

Marc Marquez: “ Neither I nor my rivals expected such domination »

Au championnat, Marquez is now in the lead with 344 points, or 83 more than his brother Alex, second overall.

Yet, despite this considerable advance, Marc refuses any form of relaxation:

« No, not at all. I'm always optimistic, but this time, I prefer to be a little negative to stay focused. There are 11 races left and a lot can happen, including injuries. I work better under pressure »

As to whether he expected such clear domination: " No, neither me nor them. Alex is very consistent and doesn't make mistakes, which forces me to avoid them. This makes the fight even more intense »

In sparkling form, Marc Marquez seems more than ever launched towards a new coronation. His rivals are warned: even with a comfortable lead, the driver Ducati doesn't intend to give up anything.
