MotoGP Misano Day 2: The fans who shame the sport are back; these images hurt

A few seconds after Marc Marquez's very heavy crash during the Sprint at Misano, the directors made a focus on the stands, and more precisely on a group dressed in the colors of Valentino Rossi, Marquez's former rival. The latter, without knowing the state of health of the eight-time world champion (who drove headfirst into the airfences), did not hesitate to shout their joy, and give the grounded pilot the finger.

 

 

Even though the Spanish driver seems above it, everyone should condemn this nauseating behavior. Fanaticism, which is growing as Marc Marquez becomes more prominent, is spreading to both sides., who respond, on social media and now in real life, with ever more violence in their words and gestures. This shameful part was also cut from the extract of the fall reshared by the X MotoGP account, but kept on the account of Canal + MotoGP ; let's not hide the reality, animosity is still present.

 

 

It seems hard to believe that the falling out between Marc Marquez and Valentino Rossi dates back ten years, given the hot topic in people's minds.Rossi, who has not raced in the premier class since the end of 2021, could and should even call for calm this weekend at Misano, just as Davide Tardozzi did at Mugello, when he urged his compatriots to stop whistling Marc Marquez, the winner at the time.
