Marc Marquez didn't finish the first day in the lead in the Netherlands, but Alex held his own. The Gresini rider finished second again after a very complicated Friday, notably marked by one of his crashes. Since the start of the season, Alex has been riding like a world champion, with unparalleled consistency. It's impressive, and there's no doubt he'd like to move up a gear at Assen; that is, finally impose himself right under his brother's nose.
Alex Marquez, second in Practice behind Fabio Quartararo, is no longer even an outsider. He's a favorite alongside Marc Marquez and Pecco Bagnaia – we should expect to see him in front. Yet, this Friday was complicated. « It was a difficult day to understand: we tried many things, but the conditions changed, so we had trouble understanding what worked and what didn't. » he declared.

However, that didn't stop him from pushing forward and gaining confidence. A fall isn't going to bother the double Moto3-Moto2 world champion. « We made progress this Friday, even though I fell in the afternoon.. I had some doubts about the medium tires and, despite the number of falls of the other riders, I dispelled them all" he added.

In any case, he has proven on numerous occasions that he can be competitive regardless of the circuit or the weather conditions. « We have a good rhythm and we are at the top, even though the weekend is only just beginning » he concluded. Alex Marquez is therefore very confident, and given the current dynamic, this could well translate into victory.
