The emergency response team at the 2025 Spanish Grand Prix in Jerez was put to the test, handling 320 incidents in a few hours, a 73% increase compared to 2024. A fatal accident marked the event: Saturday evening at 23:00 p.m. on the A-4, near the south exit of Jerez towards El Puerto, a 53-year-old motorcyclist lost his life, and a woman of the same age was hospitalized with multiple injuries. In high temperatures, the record crowd exacerbated the risks.
The MotoGP party at Jerez suffered a dramatic setback. While the atmosphere was in full swing this weekend at the Angel Nieto circuit, the Andalusian emergency services had to deal with an explosion of interventions. No fewer than 320 incidents recorded in a few hours, a dizzying increase of 73% compared to the 2024 edition.
Tragedy struck on the night of Saturday to Sunday: a 53-year-old man lost his life in a motorcycle accident on the A-4, towards El Puerto. His passenger, of the same age, was seriously injured and rushed to hospital in Jerez with multiple traumas. Unfortunately, this was only the most serious case in a long list of interventions.
The majority of relief efforts involved heat-related medical problems, motorcycle accidents, bruises et various injuries. Not less than 235 patients were taken into care for these reasons. In addition, 51 traffic accidents, 39 traffic-related incidents and several hit and run reported in Jerez, Conil and El Puerto de Santa Maria.

Call for collective responsibility for the French Grand Prix after the Spanish one
The hospital report follows: two seriously injured people were admitted to the Santa María Hospital in El Puerto, one for a tibia-fibula fracture, the other for ribs fractures and a pneumothoraxAnother victim has been reported after a violent car accident in Conil.
Present at the forward command post, Antonio Sanz, regional minister of the Presidency, Interior and Social Dialogue, nevertheless stressed that "normality and coordination" remained in place despite the scale of the incidents.
While the caravan of the MotoGP is preparing to head towards Le Mans for the Grand Prix of France, this sad episode in Spain sends out a solemn appeal: respect the highway code, follow safety instructions and keep in mind that the passion for motorcycling must never turn into tragedy.
