Alex Rins Spain

The ordeal continues for Alex Rins in Spain. For several years now, the Yamaha factory rider has been forced to miss races due to various injuries. Much like his colleague Miguel Oliveira, his health is at risk every time he goes out on track. While he still hasn't missed a single race in 2025, a huge crash suffered during FP2 this morning could jeopardize the rest of his season if it worsens. For now, Rins is in, but for how much longer?

His last full season was in 2019. The volume Alex Rins suffered in FP2 could well precipitate another prolonged visit to the infirmary, but the Spaniard prefers to bite the bullet for the moment. “This morning I had a bad fall, very serious. I lost the front end at very high speed, then ended up in the guardrail and hit the wall.. For a fall like that, I'm more or less fine. I went to the medical center for a check-up, because I felt a slight pain in my right little finger and knee, and They discovered that my wrist also had a small crack » he declared upon arrival.

The affected area is very delicate; there's no doubt he won't be tempting the devil tomorrow at the Grand Prix. He is physically incapable of reaching the required level of competition. "But I did the sprint race just to see how I was and what we could do. For now, of course, I'm tired and in pain, but the Sprint was important for us." he continued.

Yamaha, which had one bike on pole position and the other in last place on the grid, is making progress. But the upgrades aren't waiting for Alex Rins, who sees his French teammate disrupt the established hierarchy. "I don't feel 100% because of the fall, but we still have work to do. NWe are a little far from Fabio, so we must continue to push in this direction » he concluded. It remains to be seen whether his condition improves tomorrow, for a race twice as long.
