Jorge Martin is finally breathing fresh air! After days confined to Hamad General Hospital in Doha, the Aprilia rider shared a beaming photo outside the facility, a sign that the end of the tunnel is near. He's heading to Spain soon for a rest and rehabilitation phase that promises to be long and intense. The "Martinator" will have to put the word "haste" on hold, because his return to MotoGP promises to be a marathon, not a sprint...
Good news from Qatar: George Martin was finally able to leave Hamad General Hospital in Doha after a long week marked by pain and uncertainty. The world champion MotoGP 2024, the victim of a horrific accident in Losail, posted a photo outside the facility, a sign that he is beginning a new stage of his path to recovery.
But the return to Spain will have to wait a little longer. The pilot Aprilia stay a few more days at Qatar, under medical supervision, before being able to return to begin a convalescence which promises to be long, between rest, rehabilitation and forced patience.
Jorge Martin: “ As soon as possible, I will return home to rest and be with my people »
« Thank you to all for the messages and for supporting me during this difficult time in my life. I am still suffering a lot, but everything is under control. I will stay in Qatar for a few more days as a precaution, and as soon as possible, I will return home to rest and be with my people. I hope it will be very soon " he wrote.
Hit in eleven ribs and victim of a pneumothorax, Martin will now have to arm himself with courage. His return to the track will not happen for several weeks, perhaps several months. One thing is certain: in this fight against time, the word "haste" has disappeared from his vocabulary... The road to recovery will be long, but each step taken, like this hospital discharge, is a victory in itself.
