The Spanish rider therefore did not participate in qualifying or either race, but will return on Friday for his home Grand Prix in Valencia. He acknowledges that he will not be at 100% fitness, but getting back on track will be crucial in his eyes in order to finish the season in line with what he has shown in recent weeks.

“Valencia is the final Grand Prix of the season and it will be important that I’m there at least 90-95% of my capacity. It’s my home Grand Prix, one of my favorite circuits, and one where I always have a lot of fun riding. I’m really looking forward to it.”, did he declare.

“I think we can give it one last push to finish the season well, even though we were hoping for a different result in Portugal. My injury on Friday prevented me from starting the races, and that has even more significance now that we need to finish the season strong. We also have an important test in Valencia on Tuesday, so I'm going to try to stay calm, work hard, and be at 90-95% of my capacity.”
