Alex Marquez

Without a doubt, Alex Marquez will once again be among the favorites for victory in Valencia. Since the start of the season, the Spaniard has displayed remarkable consistency, allowing him to secure second place in the overall standings quite easily, though he hasn't been able to catch his brother Marc. For this final round, the Gresini rider has high expectations, coming just a week after his last Sprint victory.

Alex Marquez had a very good first day at the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia. He discusses his fourth-place finish in Practice. « It was a Friday where we already had a preview of Tuesday's tests.Obviously, this type of testing reduced our working time for the weekend, but we still achieved our goal. This year, I've achieved 21 direct qualifications to Q2, and that's something I'm really very proud of. » he said this evening.

His opponents are well identified, that's for sure: as in Portimao, Pedro Acosta and Marco Bezzecchi will be a force to be reckoned with. But, this time, other drivers – like the VR46 pair – could well slot in. « For tomorrow, it is true that Acosta and Bezzecchi are fast, but even behind them, they have gotten closer than in Portugal. » he continued.

In any case, he knows that nothing is decided yet. « We all want to finish strong. All three of us are in top form, as we saw in the last few races.Pedro is even more motivated because he's chasing his first victory, then there's Marco and me, and there might be some surprises. The races here are always very open, tire wear is significant, and that's why you have to be perfectly prepared for the long race. We will do our best to qualify well because overtaking is difficult here" he concluded.
