Fabio Quartararo had another difficult race in Valencia, unable to overtake and only able to defend his position.
The Grands Prix follow one another and are similar for Fabio Quartararo Since the start of the season, the Frenchman has managed to be fast over a single lap during qualifying, which allows him to be well-positioned on the starting grid, but then loses a lot of ground in the race. With less top speed and less grip, it is very difficult for him to overtake his competitors, and Saturday's sprint race was no exception.
He qualified in sixth position and got off to a good start, gaining a place in the first corner, then quickly overtook Marco Bezzecchi, which was somewhat disrupted in the first round. Then overtaken by Fabio Di Giannantonio, Quarterly maintained fifth position until the fifth lap, where Bezzecchi repeated it. From then on, he tried to defend his place against a Franco Morbidelli increasingly urgent.
The Italian finally had the last word on lap nine, and the Yamaha rider crossed the finish line in seventh position. While this remains a good result considering the performances of the other Yamaha riders (12th, 15th, 17th, and 20th), he didn't hide his frustration.

“The pace wasn’t there, and anyway, we know that right now there’s nothing we can do but defend. We don’t have the potential to attack. I only managed to do it briefly on the first lap, when Bezzecchi made a small mistake and I overtook him. Otherwise, there’s nothing to salvage from today.”he blurted out during his debriefing.
“The soft tire is really too soft for us, but it handles the corners much better and allows me to be faster. But in the race, with more than ten laps to complete, it becomes impossible. That said, I did an excellent lap in qualifying considering that from the last corner to the first braking zone you lose a lot of top speed. We'll see tomorrow with twice as many laps to go.”
"We see that some drivers make mistakes, I don't make mistakes and I can't catch up with them."he added into the microphone of Canal +. "Tomorrow I'll try to get a good start, but as for the final result, you never know what to hope for, so to finish, the last objective is to finish ahead of Aldeguer in the championship, even if it's symbolic, and to try to do it well."
