It's been highly anticipated for a few weeks, and it's now official: Ducati VR46, third in the teams' championship, will continue with Franco Morbidelli next season. "Franky", currently sixth in the championship after missing two races, is continuing his adventure at the highest level with his favorite team.
The links between the VR46 Academy and Franco Morbidelli are very strong. In 2017, the Italian became the first champion to come from this performance school when he won the Moto2 title. After mixed years in MotoGP, including two and a half with the official Yamaha team, he bounced back at Pramac Racing, without much success.

Just as his career was thought to be in jeopardy by the end of 2024, Morbidelli was snapped up by Ducati VR46, which was also parting ways with Marco Bezzecchi at the same time. A welcome move given his current situation, and one that demonstrates the Italians' loyalty to their rider. Morbidelli will therefore continue with this formation in 2026. Morbidelli will therefore play alongside Fabio Di Giannantonio next season, and will finally hope to return to his 2020 level, when he finished runner-up in the MotoGP world championship.
