Each model in Yamaha's renowned R series represents much more than just a motorcycle. The R series is the culmination of years of research and technological innovation, crowned with success in competition.

Since the launch of the very first R1 in 1998, each model in the R series has not only caused a sensation, but has been a game-changer. In recent years, Yamaha has revolutionized the Supersport segment, pushing boundaries and opening up new possibilities, to offer competition-inspired motorcycles that deliver optimal performance on both road and track, all while maintaining a reasonable price.

In 2021, the launch of the R7, equipped with the CP2, was one of these steps. It is a new type of Supersport created to appeal to a younger audience and introduce the new generation of motorcyclists to the thrills, excitement and pride that comes from owning an R series model, from the R125 to the R9, including the more extreme models, the iconic R1 RACE and R1 GYTR reserved for the track.

The evolution of the Supersport category has also been reflected in competition, with the R7 proving itself both on the track and on the road thanks to the popular R7 Cups organized across Europe.
