It's shaping up to be an intense summer for Iker Lecuona. The Spanish rider, currently competing in the Superbike World Championship with Honda HRC, will once again compete in the legendary Suzuka 8 Hours in early August. He's joining a top-tier Honda factory team alongside Johann Zarco and Takumi Takahashi, with one clear objective: to secure a fourth consecutive victory for the Japanese brand in this legendary event.
Winner at Suzuka in 2022 during his first participation with Tetsuta nagashima et TakahashiLecuona will be reunited with two familiar faces. This return will mark his second appearance in this legendary endurance race, and he hopes to repeat the feat on his next attempt. His preparation has already begun with a test session earlier this week.
Honda advances as favorite: the firm triumphed at Suzuka in 2024 with Takahashi, zarco et Teppei Nagoe, while the 2023 victory went to Xavi Verge (Lecuona's teammate in World SBK), alongside Nagashima et Takahashi. Veteran Takahashi also holds the record for victories in this race.
