• From 2027, Michelin becomes exclusive supplier to the FIM Superbike World Championship (World SBK).
• Accelerated technology transfer: innovations from MotoGP™ and MotoE™ will be applied to WorldSBK tires, promoting their rapid rollout to mainstream track and road tires.
• Michelin will bring to WorldSBK its expertise in high performance, its commitment to sustainability, and the excellence of its technical and development teams.
Michelin is pleased to announce that it will become, from 2027 until the end of the 2031 season, the exclusive tire supplier for all categories of the FIM Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK).
This commitment marks a new strategic step for the Group, confirming its global presence in the world of motorcycle racing, following its successes in MotoGP and MotoE. It is part of a logical approach: capitalizing on the technological innovations developed in the premier categories to apply them to a championship where the machines are closer to production motorcycles.
« We are very pleased to be able to commit so quickly to a world-class motorcycle sports championship from 2027 »Says Matthieu Bonardel, Director of Michelin Motorsport. WorldSBK is an ideal platform to bring our technologies even closer to those used by all motorcyclists, whether they ride on track or on the road. The audience for this championship is mainly composed of enthusiasts, owners of supersport motorcycles. For them, we will do everything possible to offer a high-quality show, supported by tires with excellent performance. »
By choosing to become the exclusive supplier to WorldSBK, Michelin is affirming its commitment to contributing to the development of tires that combine high performance, durability, and affordability. Since the bikes entered in WorldSBK are directly derived from production models, the technologies developed for this championship can quickly be rolled out to tire ranges intended for the general public.
Already successfully present in the WorldSBK championship in the early 2000s — with 12 titles won in open competition — Michelin is returning to a discipline that perfectly matches its DNA of innovation serving everyone.
Through its commitment to WorldSBK, Michelin will provide manufacturers, teams and riders with its expertise at the highest level of motorcycle racing, its recognized ability to combine sporting performance and environmental responsibility, as well as the excellence of its technical, development and performance analysis teams.
