During the round World SBK Superbike at Misano in Emilia-Romagna, where Pirelli is the main sponsor, will use a new E0479-specification tire. It uses the standard SCQ compound, but with an innovative structure.
· Next weekend, the FIM Superbike World Championship will stop at the circuit Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli in Misano Adriatico for the sixth round, of which Pirelli is the main sponsor, called Pirelli Emilia-Romagna Round. On this occasion, WorldSBK riders will have the new E0479 rear specification in extrasoft version, which replaces the standard SCQ. The rear allocation is completed by another developed solution, the supersoft E0126 tire already seen in action at Assen and Cremona, where it was very well received and was the most used option for long races, and by the standard soft SC0 tire.
· A new structure for the extrasoft tire. The E0479 uses the same compound as the standard SCQ, but features a completely innovative structure, developed through experience and feedback from riders. The goal is to offer greater performance consistency, a larger footprint and better stability, in order to further increase grip and absolute performance compared to the standard version. As usual for extra-soft compound solutions, the E0479 will only be usable for practice sessions, qualifying and the Superpole Race.
· Full allocationIn addition to the rear solutions already mentioned, WorldSBK riders will be able to count on the SC1 medium and SC2 hard front tires.
In WorldSSP, the front alternatives will be the SC1 and SC2, to be combined with the SCX or SC0 rear tires, while in WorldSSP300 and Yamaha R3 bLU cRU World Cup, the SC1 will be the available option for both axles.
“After introducing a new soft tire, the E0125 specification, in Portimão, and a development supersoft tire, the E0126, used at Assen and Cremona and which will also be present at Misano, our development work continues, focusing on the extrasoft tire with the new E0479 specification, which represents an evolution of the standard SCQ from which it is distinguished by a completely different structure. This new solution has been designed to offer a larger footprint, increased grip and stability, as well as consistent performance. The results achieved by the E0125 and E0126 since their debut have been very encouraging, and we hope that the E0479 will also be well received. It is a solution designed to offer maximum performance on the flying lap while maintaining it at a very high level, even over the 10-lap distance of the Superpole Race.” If conditions are favourable, we will also be able to see the E0126 supersoft tyre in action at Misano again, in order to gather further useful data."
