Johann Zarco Emily Bondi

Like other French drivers, Emily Bondi benefits from the advice of Johann Zarco, who she believes is a real help in her progress.

Entering the Women's World Championship (WCR) for the second consecutive season, Emily Bondi is currently 12th in the championship with, in particular, a first top 10 achieved in Assen a month ago. Constantly progressing since her first steps at world level last year, she benefits from the advice of Johann Zarco, who is very involved with young French drivers.

The recent Le Mans winner makes no secret of his desire to help his compatriots reach the highest level, and tries to help whenever his busy schedule allows. For example, he sometimes organizes training sessions in France, inviting young drivers to share the track with him, while giving them some advice once they return to the pit box. This practice is widespread in Spain and Italy, and that he would like to develop further in France, to the great pleasure of those who benefit from it.

“Johann is someone I love very much and who helps me, who brings me a lot.”, said Emily Bondi à Racing Stream TV. "He's not going to say much, he's going to say three words, but they're three powerful words. It's very clear and it's going to be straight, to the point, and he's someone who's going to give you the solutions. He's going to give you the problem, 'OK, you have this as a problem,' and in addition to giving you the problem, analyzing the thing, he's going to give you the key and the solution to solve the problem."

"And so obviously you're progressing very strongly, and he has an impact every time I ride with him, or I'm around him, or he sends me a message. It resonates very strongly in my head because you can only listen to a MotoGP rider when he tells you 'maybe you shouldn't do it like that'."

“There are sometimes other drivers, for them it’s so innate to ride, it’s so easy, which is also the case for Xavier [Siméon], that sometimes it’s really hard to transcribe and explain things. He says ‘I do this, that’ but then for a novice like me I say ‘yes but how? Why?’ and it’s difficult to explain. And that’s precisely the difference. It’s that sometimes, being a driver and coaching, giving advice, etc. are things that are totally different. We were talking about Johann, in this case it’s both: he’s a teacher and also a very good driver.”, has she added.

Emily Bondi will be back on track from July 11th to 13th for the third round of the Women's World Championship which will be held at Donington and which you can follow for free on the WCR YouTube channel.
