It could have been much worse than a right ankle with fractures still to be assessed to determine the fitness of its owner to continue the adventure in this Grand Prix of the Americas. But the accident caused a sensation. A violent clash between two teammates, Baptist bringing to the ground an Abraham apparently lost in the trajectory. The first Aspar pilot charged the second. Who gives his version.

The enthusiasm of the Czech from the front row conquered at the end of qualifying for the last Grand Prix in Argentina died out on the first day of the Grand Prix of the Americas in Austin. The fault of an accident which could have been more serious. Designated as responsible although physically the most affected by the event, Karel gives his version of the facts:

« I put on the soft tires and took the first turns carefully before deciding to attack. At one point, I went wide out of a corner by braking too late and went off the track. It was when I came back on it and opened the throttle that I found myself with Álvaro coming out of the curve at the same time.”

“I don't know what happened, whether his bike moved or not, but he hit me on the side. I didn't expect it and the fall was violent, the bike fell on me and now I have pain everywhere. I'm going to take x-rays and I hope I can continue the meeting. I'm annoyed because when you fall, you always learn something. Which was not the case here ».

Twenty-first at the end of Friday, Karel Abraham suffered a slight fracture of his right ankle. It will be examined before returning to the track.
