It was under temperatures of 20° in the air and 31° on the track that the Moto2 qualifying sessions were launched on the Austin track. Dominant at the end of the last two free practice sessions, Alex Marquez would he succeed in achieving this with a pole position? That was the question.
Before launching into hostilities, it was useful to remind ourselves of the performances established so far.

From the first minutes, a first twist occurred with the fall ofAlex Marquez. Morbidely, championship leader and driver Marc VDS wasn't asking for much to take control of the session with a good time of 2'09.954. Quite simply the fastest performance since the start of the Texas meeting.

Lüthi accompanied the Italian in the 2'09 lap zone leaving Alex Marquez third and first representing performances in 2'10 in front of a Olive tree still in the game for KTM. But it was not without effort!

At the start of the last quarter of an hour, Alex Marquez took the bit back in his teeth and whipped his Kalex to bring it to a 2'09.621 synonymous with provisional peak position. Ricard Cardus was a very honorable seventh with the second KTM, Cortese was the best Suter, finishing sixth and Quarterly was isolated in the twenty-first row. Virgin was fourteenth for Tech3.
The last five minutes set the track on fire with the falls of Kent et NAVARRO who, barely relieved, saw the hierarchy change with Morbidely et I passedi repulsive Alex Marquez in third place. The two Italians driving together, the championship leader ahead of his elder, imposed their pace.
A pace of 2'09.379 which will be enough to Morbidely to take his second pole position in three Grand Prix contested. Pasini et Alex Marquez complete the first line while we will find on the second Lüthi, agitated et Olive tree. Either a Kalex, a Suter and a KTM.
Simeon, Cortese et Cardus close the top 10 notably at one Xavier Vierge good twelfth on the Mistral 610. NAVARRO, thirteenth, is the best of the beginners. Quarterly, for his part, is content with sixteenth position.
