Andrea Iannone explains today in the Gazetta how he came to divorce from Ducati and comments on the latest aggressive statements from his former teammate.

The site Motoracing defers the essential part of this very measured right of response.

Andrea Iannone: “I did everything possible to avoid this. Both parties, we really held out our hands but we couldn't shake them. We stayed way too far away.”

Are we talking about economic demand and supply?

"No no. It was a much more general discussion. I have very fond memories of the four years spent at Ducati: two at Pramac, and two as an official rider. Difficult but beautiful seasons. I'm not an easy person to get along with during competition weekends, and that's why I thank Gigi Dall'Igna, then Paolo Ciabatti, Davide Tardozzi, Julian Thomas, and obviously Claudio Domenicali.”

Andrea Dovizioso said that you and those around you have no respect for anyone (see here).

“I regret that he thinks that. We have known each other forever, since when he raced against my brother with the Minimotos. For me, there is not a great friendship but I respect him. Like our parents do. I respect him a lot, as a man and as a driver, and then on the track there is naturally a rivalry. What happened in Argentina didn't help; you can apologize a thousand times but the grievances are still there. I think for him it was two years with a tough teammate to beat, just like it was for me.”
