Winner of the last two editions of the Aragon Grand Prix, Jorge Lorenzo arrived at the Alcaniz track with the idea of continuing this great series. Unfortunately, it was the conquering Hondas and an ambitious Suzuki who gave him the answer, in addition to a Yamaha which had difficulty digesting its Michelin range.

Michelin is a subject that occupies the thoughts of Jorge Lorenzo. Admitting a particular driving style, he recognizes that he is more sensitive than other pilots to the variations in the range proposed by the single manufacturer. Although his progress has been obvious since the start of a season where he is not for nothing in the new possibilities given to the protagonists to achieve victory, Jorge Lorenzo still suffering. And it’s not these two days spent in Aragon that will change his mind.

This time, it's the tough guys who are giving him a hard time. To the point that, for the race, he says he is more than ready to take the most tender bet: “ it's difficult for us because we suffer much more than the others with the hard and medium options » announces Por Fuera. “ We can't be fast this year, with this bike and on this track. I knew that for qualifying I would be able to play the front row if I rode the softs. So that's what I did. With the hard rear tire it's difficult, so maybe the soft is a possibility for us ».

An option that will not be without risk: “ the soft is a good tire but the problem is that after a few laps it is very marked. We have to make a decision and it will be important. With the tender, we are competitive. However, Michelin has brought here tough ones for the front and rear and they are difficult to handle as we saw this morning in cooler conditions. It's easy to make a mistake. In the afternoon, it was less obvious so we will see which combinations we choose for tomorrow's race ».

It develops : " The general problem with our bike, and it doesn't date from this year, is that we don't have much rear grip. As a result, the front is blurry and it doesn't help when turning. It's not a motorcycle that passes by dragging it. It's even the opposite. On this track we don't have much grip either front or rear. And with my riding style, I suffer more from the lack of grip at the rear ».

So what can we hope for tomorrow? “ It will be difficult to go after Márquez, he seems a step above. But in 2014, it was the same and I won the race where the obligation to change bikes gave me an opportunity. Maybe I wouldn't have won in the dry. But everything is possible in MotoGP and I will do my best. If I have to fight for fourth place then that's what I'll do ". For tomorrow, the weather forecast remains uncertain.
