Maverick Vinales : “It was very complicated. We tried a new setup for the wet, but unfortunately we couldn't find any way to improve. We had a lot of slippage, the bike is not working well, so we have a lot of problems to set a good time. Luckily it will be dry and we know we will have a strong set for these conditions. We will try to improve in the wet. We try and try, but sometimes it gets difficult. We didn't improve compared to Misano, we took a few steps back trying to improve, but we will continue to try to do our best. »
Massimo Meregalli : “It’s been an eventful start to the weekend for us. We suffered a lot due to a lack of grip. After Misano, we did not expect to experience this setback. Both Vinales and Valentino did not get a good feel on the bike and experienced a lot of slippage, which caused a drop in power and prevented them from riding the way they wanted. We didn't know what to expect from Vale on the first day, but the wet conditions allowed him a smooth return from his injury. The goal of today was for him to reacquaint himself with the bike. Either way, we expect dry conditions tomorrow, and only then will we really know where it is. »
