Cal Crutchlow finished sixth his Friday in Aragon, a rainy first day which turned to the advantage of the Hondas. Three are thus among the first six and one of them leads the way. That of a Pedrosa who does much better than in the rain of Misano. What will the expected result be in the dry? The Englishman from LCR has already announced that he is testing for 2018…

But before embarking on his first day of this fourteenth of the eighteen meetings of the year, the Englishman would like to congratulate Michelin for the quality of its rain tires: “ you can't imagine how many angles you can take with it. It's quite simple, you can be faster with these rain tires than the first Moto2 slick tires. You can also brake very hard with it. The problem is that as soon as you leave the wet portion, they heat up very quickly ».

That being said, the one who is 0.613 seconds behind the best time of Pedrosa continues: " the HRC brings developments. I don't know exactly what it is, but it's a fact. There is not a big difference with our current bike because it works quite well. They're gathering information, which means they're working on another bike. I told them that I found the 2016 version easier but also more efficient with the new engine. ».

Regarding the fact that it does not use the new fairing, Crutchlow reassures: “ Dani and Marc have it but for my part, I don't feel that it brings me anything. It even has some drawbacks. Our bike is competitive like that. We don't need that to be efficient. ».

Comments that would almost make you forget that the Englishman is running with a damaged finger: “ I'm doing pretty well although I have pain at the end of my forearm. It is a route which does not turn in the direction which is that of the other routes. We'll see if we can adapt. It's not perfect form, but if we were to do the Grand Prix now, we'd be in it ».
