Brilliant yesterday on a wet track, Johann Zarco did not have the same success today on a dry track.

After a difficult morning where he suffered a fall at turn #3, ten minutes after the start of the session, relegating him to 19th position, the French driver gradually regained confidence in the afternoon by climbing into fifth position before ending the session 11th.

Not qualified in the top 10 at the end of FP3, the Tech3 driver gave everything he had in Q1 and managed to reach Q2 to join the battle of the big names.

Unable to improve his Q1 time, “Jojo” had to settle for 11th position on the starting grid.

After the two sessions in the wet yesterday, the fall in the morning came at the worst time for the Rookie who only had one session to discover all the subtleties of a MotoGP on the Aragon circuit and attempt the passage directly into Q2.

Today it didn't work, but Johann Zarco was nevertheless able to observe and learn enough things to hope to have a good race tomorrow...

Johann zarco, 11th: “I gave everything I could in Q1, which corresponded to a time of 1'48.3, and I was not able to improve in Q2. It's difficult when you do your best and finish 11th, but I'm still optimistic for the race. After this morning's fall, my confidence wasn't the highest. However, in FP4 I felt a lot better because we modified the bike and my sensations really improved. We did a solid job getting through to Q2 but I think we reached our limit in the first qualifier. This is because you need to set a good time with the extra grip of a new tire, and we weren't able to use it well enough, and that's why it was complicated. However, from what we already know, it seems that I have fewer problems with used tires, compared to the other drivers, and in this case the gap is smaller. This is important for tomorrow, but after the problems we had in FP3, it is good to start 11th and I will keep this positive thought in mind. »
