Si the day was not easy for Johann Zarco, it was downright difficult for his teammate Jonas Folger.

The latter indeed suffered a very strange reaction from his Yamaha M1 this morning.

Disconcerted by the latter, the German pilot had to make a trip to the medical services, in this case the Alcaniz hospital, to discover possible injuries which were not immediately apparent.

Reassured about his fate despite an affected larynx, he was able to participate in FP4 but, unlike his teammate, was not able to cross the Q1 barrier.

He will start tomorrow from 18th place on the starting grid, but with good hope of making a big comeback...

Jonas Folger explains the reaction of his motorcycle as follows: "vs'was quite strange, I put too much gas in the change of direction, the Anti-Wheelie then intervened strongly and it moved my front wheel. It wasn't because I was going too slow, the tires were OK and I didn't have any jerks or anything. The movement was a little too aggressive. Physically, it's fine, except for the larynx, because I unfortunately touched the bodywork with my neck. That took my breath away. »

Once these emotions had passed, Jonas Folger regained confidence when he noticed that the situation could have been more serious, since he achieved the 5th fastest time in FP4: “in FP4, it went pretty well with the medium tire. During qualifying we had some problems because we had too much weight on the front. We now have to sort this out, but I think we can score some important points in the race. But we won't change much, maybe a little more on Traction Control. It definitely won't be my best result, but I can definitely score points. I will also try to beat Johann Zarco, because he is not as strong this weekend, especially with the medium tires. And with these we were pretty strong, so hopefully we'll come back up. »
